When you think of vacationing in the Caribbean, the first thing that comes to mind are images of beaches with white sand, turquoise sea, and palm trees full of coconuts.
And it is undoubtedly one of the most taken images in our photo sessions!
But the Dominican Republic has much more to offer than that, and for that reason, we decided to travel a little further to Bayahibe and its sugarcane fields for this beautiful photoshoot.
During the drive from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo, the first thing the landscape shows us are the immense sugarcane plantations, one of the most picturesque landscapes of almost the entire island.
With its long dirt roads that divide the tall sugarcane fields, you can see an endless horizon of beautiful greens and yellows.
Its rusty and large freight train cars, deposited on the old rails, make this landscape a more rustic place.
Depending on the time of year, these tones can be seen in earthy yellows during the burning of the sugarcane, and workers can be seen in the sunlight with their large machetes and ox-drawn carts.
It really is a unique image!
Along the roads surrounding the sugarcane fields, there are abundant Flamboyan trees, the trees that during the summer months paint everything red with their beautiful bouquet of fiery red flowers.
It's all a beautiful color palette!
That's where we went, with this beautiful couple . A year ago, our previous setting was a sunrise at sea. This time, we swapped the turquoise for the yellow-greens of the sugar cane and the Flamboyan paths.
I share some of their photos here!
